They warn you that it goes by quickly, within a blink of an eye. But when you’re in the thick of it, covered in spit-up, not having showered or slept in 3 days, trying to figure out how to gain this new identity of being a parent overnight - it feels like these moments will last forever.

But before you know it, you’re watching them take their first steps and they no longer need you to hold their hands. You’re hearing them say their first words. You’re seeing them discover all the beautiful parts of the world, and trying to protect them from the ugly parts.

Becoming a parent changes you, for the better. It’s hard and tiring, but it’s beautiful. The purest piece of your heart born into this world. You are their first love, their most loyal protector.

The truth is, time is fleeting and cruel. It waits for no one.

These are the moments we should be documenting — the spit-up covered, exhausted, messy moments that we will cherish in our hearts forever.

Don’t book a family photoshoot just to check it off a list. Don’t dress everyone up in things they would never wear and try to bribe your children to smile and not fuss for an hour straight.

Let me come into your home — however messy or unfinished you feel it is. Because your home is your sanctuary, it’s where life is lived. It’s overflowing with pieces of your family and the chapter you are in. That’s what I want to document — all of it.

Jessica did our family photos and it was such a great experience! She didn’t make us pose or stage anything, she just captured us being us! She provided a beautiful location both inside and out. Our photos came out nothing short of amazing! She even sent us a sneak peak that night, which we all know everyone’s always anxious and looking forward to getting to see them as soon as possible. I would definitely recommend Jess!
From the most vulnerable setting of a boudoir shoot, to a cornfield super pregnant with 3 muddy dogs running around, and an in-home shoot when I was postpartum and no where near feeling my best, Jess has always been there there to make me feel beautiful, comfortable, and confident. The candids she takes are as if she’s a fly on the wall experiencing an intimate exchange, and the more posed photos still don’t feel or look posed at all. She’s excellent at capturing love, chaos, and new/old experiences while making photoshoots fun and light. You’ll definitely want to grab coffee with Jess after, too, as she’s simply a wonderful human being.
I honestly can not say enough good things about Jess! We made a last minute decision to have maternity photos done and Jess was so easy to contact and so flexible on making a time work. My husband and I always feel awkward in front of the camera but Jess makes the whole process so easy and fun. It was like hanging out with a friend for an hour. And the pictures came out unbelievable. Jess has such an artistic eye, and an eye for detail. I am still blown away at her work. I would recommend her a million times over. We can't wait to book with again when our little one joins us this November!
We've had our family photos done by Jessica since the start of her journey, she's captured and been right beside us for some of our biggest life celebrations. Jessica as a person is incredibly welcoming, personable and thoughtful which in return makes her feel like a long lost friend. Photos can be uncomfortable at times but between her personality and extreme talent behind the camera it makes for an easy and fun process. Whenever I look back at my photos she has done for us I can't help but feel how I did in that very moment in time again.
