THE EXPERIENCE

Anyone can take pretty photos of you in front of a sunset. I’m looking to dig deeper. To truly connect. To create a space where you feel like you can open up and share your story with me. I create my best work when I’m taking photos of people I connect with and care about - the ones who trust me and collaborate with me to help tell their stories.

  • My approach is a little different. If you’re looking for someone to just show up with a camera and take a few posed photos, I’m not your girl. I care deeply about the people I get to work with and want to document their lives in the truest form. I want to take photos of you in your home. I welcome the mess. It’s proof that you’re living in a space - and your home should be the safest, most sacred space you seek. I want to take photos of the mud on your dress and the wind-swept hair in your face and not photoshop any of it out. It’s part of your memory and it’s my job to preserve a piece of it for you.

  • I want you to know that I’m truly invested in you and that I understand the weight of this work. I understand that the photos I take may be the last photos you have of a grandparent. I understand that looking back at your wedding photos and being able to feel the love you have for one another can save you in some really hard times. I understand that your children will grow up, your parents will grow old and that time is fleeting. I don’t take this work lightly.

  • On Instagram, I often see photographers looking so cute on wedding days, taking bts videos, posting all throughout the day. I asked myself - why don’t I do that? And why do I look like a sweaty mess at the end of the wedding day instead of all cute in a dress? It’s because my sole purpose on that day is to be there for you. I’m not taking bts videos because I’m helping you put your jewelry on and bustling your dress. I look like a sweaty mess because I’m running around on the dance floor like a crazy person, getting shots of all the people who are surrounding you. I’m crying during your father-daughter dance. I’m truly present. I’m not worried about getting content that will help me book my next gig. My utmost priority is being there for you and making sure you have the best day possible.

  • I strongly believe that collaboration is essential in creating art we are both proud of. We have to meet each other half way. As much as I like to think I can sometimes work some magic, I can’t make stories up out of thin air - nor do I want to. I’m very much subject-led, which means I’m inspired by the people I’m photographing. I don’t want to insert myself so much into telling your story that it no longer becomes yours. That’s why I need your help in the creative process. We will work together and communicate before you are ever in front of my camera. Doing that work up fronts help you feel more comfortable and know exactly what to expect, and it allows me to create narrative work that truly represents you.

  • Every couple, wedding, and family is different - and I believe their photos should reflect that. Whether you are planning your wedding, or we are collaborating on a portrait session, I encourage you to do what feels right for you - not anything that you just feel you have to do. When you look at your photos, I want you to see your true self. Don’t like wedding cake? Don’t have one! Don’t want the stress of planning a huge wedding? Run to the mountains and elope. Afraid that your home is a mess or that your child will have a meltdown during your session? Let’s embrace the mess and celebrate this chapter of your lives that will be gone in a blink of an eye. Think you have to go to some epic location for your session? Let’s find beauty in the mundane tasks that make up your everyday lives and choose a location that has meaning to you. Here is your permission to toss away any expectations you’re carrying and just embrace your truth.

  • My turnaround time for sessions is 4 weeks and for weddings it is 8 weeks. However, you will have the option to add Rush Turnaround to your wedding for an additional fee.

  • I typically deliver between 50 and 100 images per hour of coverage.

  • You will be emailed a link to your online photo gallery, where you will be able to download both web and high-resolution versions of all your images (for no additional fee). However, if you choose to, you can always download your images and send them to print wherever you like.

  • No, the collection prices include shooting time and access to an online gallery where you can download all of your images. There is an option to print through the gallery site for an additional fee.

  • I value documenting you exactly how you are and do not photoshop anything about your appearance unless it is something that would naturally disappear within a couple of weeks (i.e. bruises, blemishes).

  • I always encourage my clients to embrace the weather as any weather can make for really beautiful and unique photos. However, if it’s bad enough where it would make us have a bad time or if it would ruin my gear, we will reschedule.

  • A non-refundable retainer is required upon booking ($500 for weddings, 30% for sessions) and the remainder is due 1 month prior to the shoot. Remaining amount can be split into 2 payments upon request.
