Vermont Wedding at The Abbey | Katie + Riley
There’s something special about clients who feel like friends. I’ve gotten to know Katie and Riley over the past couple years as we’ve shot together for couple sessions and as I’ve shot some of their best friends’ weddings. I knew going into this wedding that it was going to be a fun one and these two did not disappoint.
The girls hung out and got ready at the Abbey while the guys got ready at Riley’s parents’ house a few miles down the road. They each had a gift for one another to open while they got ready and then we met and had a private vow reading and first touch before the ceremony.
The ceremony was overlooking the flowing river and it was such a beautiful summer day for a wedding.
Riley filled me in on a running joke he had with his family leading up to the wedding - a tiny plastic hand they hid from Katie only to whip out at the wedding - her reaction was my favorite. The tiny hand made its rounds throughout the rest of the reception and it was hilarious.
I couldn’t have asked for a better group of brides and grooms for 2022 - and it was even better that a lot of them in the group were friends so I got to see them multiple times throughout the year, and truly felt like I was a friend and not just a vendor for them.
I wish these two all the best and can’t wait to see what their future brings! Congratulations to the Kanes!!
