Married at Sterling Ridge Resort in Vermont | Skyler + Megan

Megan and Skyler’s wedding day started off with a little rain, but quickly cleared to be the most beautiful day. They spent the night before in separate cabins, where they each started their wedding day mornings getting ready with their closest friends and family.

A few of my favorite parts of their day —

First Touch

Instead of doing a first look, they decided to do a first touch where they would stand back to back, hold hands, and read their vows in private together before the ceremony. I would be lying if I said I didn’t choke up while they were exchanging words.

Sully

Their adorable golden doodle, Sully, hung out with them while they got ready and was even part of the ceremony. He sat so patiently while they exchanged rings and even ran after them as they walked back down the aisle, it was the best way to end the ceremony.

Special Gift

Another unanticipated, but special moment was when Megan’s high school softball coaches joined her after dinner with a special gift. Megan now coaches softball with them and has grown very close with them over the years. She opened the gift and was immediately overcome with emotion. She had been jokingly asking them for years if she could keep the jersey that she wore during high school and to her surprise, they gifted it to her on her wedding day. Such a thoughtful and special moment that I’m sure she won’t soon forget.

I asked Megan and Skyler to answer a few questions for me as they looked back on their day. Here’s what they wrote:

What did you love about your wedding location(s)/venue(s)?

Our favorite thing with our venue is how much it matched our lifestyle together, we love outdoor adventures and the mountains and cabins were just the perfect place for our forever to start!

What memory from your wedding do you remember the most strongly? What part of the day had the most effect on you or your relationship?

Our fondest memory is reading our vows to each other in private, just hearing our love for each other in our most genuine state was perfect and we will remember those words forever.

Funniest moment on your wedding day? Tell me all about it!

The funniest moment was definitely when our pup sully decided he needed to run down the aisle with us! He always will be our first baby

What advice would you give to future couples who are getting married?

The best advice we can give is to truly not stress over the little things, your day will turn out perfect no matter what just because of the love you share with your spouse.
