Fall Wedding at Boyden Valley Barn in Cambridge, Vermont

I had the joy of documenting Maddie & Kyle’s wedding weekend - from welcome dinner to goodbye brunch. I can’t put into words how much I loved working with these two. They are two of the kindest, most down to earth people and it was an honor to document their day. The thought and details that went into planning every piece of their wedding weekend didn’t go unnoticed - from welcome dinner s’mores bar with custom matchbooks, to a book of letters and old photos Maddie’s bridesmaids gifted her while they were getting ready, to the custom napkins with their pup, Callie’s face on them.

The welcome dinner fell on a beautiful Vermont fall evening at Boyden Valley, making the vineyard a perfect setting to welcome their closest family and friends, some who had traveled far to come celebrate their love. Maddie is a food blogger and both her and Kyle are huge foodies, so lucky for all of us guests, they had some amazing treats all weekend long. The welcome dinner consisted of wood-fired pizza, s’mores and the Ben & Jerry’s truck stopped by for a late night snack.

On the day of their wedding, the forecast predicted 100% chance of rain all day long, with no breaks. However, somehow it ended up being mostly clear for the morning while they had their first look, exchanged gifts, and gathered their family for portraits. We even got to see a rainbow from the balcony of their getting ready cabin - overlooking Vermont mountains ripe with fall foliage. The skies let loose as their ceremony approached, but Boyden Valley has a beautiful gazebo that covered guests so Maddie and Kyle were able to still have their ceremony outside as planned. The rain didn’t damper their spirits as they entered the reception barn, greeted by glasses of red and white wine and an unbelievable spread by Good Grocery VT. They had a family-style seated dinner and ended the night with signature cocktails and a lot of dancing.

The next morning, Maddie & Kyle hosted a goodbye brunch for their friends and family in their A-Frame cabin at Sterling Ridge Resort. Guests sleepily filed in for some coffee and bagels, exchanging stories from the night before and hugging goodbye before parting ways.

I feel so lucky to have worked with and gotten to know Jess this past year. She is truly one of the most talented and genuinely passionate photographers. She made our engagement session, my branding shoot & our wedding weekend seamless and so comfortable. My husband and I are shy when it comes to photos but she guided us through it without making things feel posed or fake. Everyone at our wedding commented on what a lovely job Jess did of being a “fly on the wall” and capturing special moments all with a smile on her face. We cried so many times when we received our full album back! Memories that we will cherish forever and we couldn’t have done it without Jess. Best investment we made for our wedding!”
