Fairfield, Vermont Intimate Backyard Winter Wedding | Mary + Jordan

A sweet, cold, day in February brought Mary, Jordan, and their families together in an intimate ceremony to celebrate their love and devotion to one another.

M + J had originally planned on a big fall wedding, but in time realized that a small ceremony at home felt right for them. During the planning, they let me in on a little secret . . . they were expecting! What a beautiful addition to their already perfect day.

Everyone huddled around in coats and mittens as they read their vows and exchanged rings, and then ended the night with pizza, cookies, and dancing.

I can’t wait to watch these two welcome their beautiful baby girl into the world in this next new exciting chapter of their lives.

What did you love about your wedding location(s)/venue(s)?

Since we decided to do it at our home, it made the day more relaxing but also intimate as well. We didn’t have to stress about decorations, or timelines, as it was all on our schedule and what we wanted.

What memory from your wedding do you remember the most strongly? What part of the day had the most effect on you or your relationship?
The ceremony was our most memorable moment of the day, as we wrote our vows together, so they were completely about us. We were also surrounded by our closest family and friends, as it was a small wedding all together.

Funniest moment on your wedding day? Tell me all about it!
Experiencing all 4 seasons in 1 day, as the day started off very warm, then turned to wind and rain, and ended with extremely cold temperatures and snow. We know they say rain is good luck on your wedding day, but not sure what all of that means.

What advice would you give to future couples who are getting married?
Don’t spend a fortune, and do what is going to truly make you happy. We planned the large wedding day originally, but when it came down to it, we were happier having less than 50 guests, and enjoying pizza and cookies together to celebrate our day!
