Shelburne Farms Couple Session | Mikayla + Evan

There’s nothing quite like autumn in Vermont, especially in a place like Shelburne Farms. This was the spot that Mikayla and Evan chose to meet me for their annual couple session. We explored the trails that wound through the farm landscape and ended the evening watching the sun set over Lake Champlain.

What I love about their love: it’s playful and easy, two people you can tell are best friends. The fact that Evan missed opening day of Vermont Rifle season to take these photos with Mik, says more than any love letter could. The weekend of these photos they spent moving into their new apartment together, their first home together. They snuck away from the unpacked boxes for this trip to Shelburne Farms to celebrate this new chapter together.

I imagine them years down the road, looking back on these photos and remembering what it felt like that first fall they spent creating a space that feels like home, together. Nights spent eating dinner on the kitchen floor before they moved their furniture in. Their first home cooked meals together. Feeling settled and setting new routines. Celebrating their first Christmas in their home and ringing in the new year.

I’m honored to be the one who gets to document these moments. From weddings, to engagements, to maternity sessions and sessions just celebrating love and the beautiful parts of everyday lives.
