This January and February I’ll be offering in home sessions that will include a mix of digital and film images

When January rolls around, the holidays will be over, the days will be short, and snow will cover the ground. Let’s cozy up in your home with your person or family and intentionally document this season of your lives, exactly how it is.

It doesn’t matter if you think your house is messy, or if you have unfinished projects (don’t we all?) because the truth is, over the years your home will change and evolve with you. It’ll never look the same as it does now, in this season. And the mess? Leave it. It’s proof that lives are being lived there — how beautiful is that.

Give yourself the gift of being able to look back at these moments in your life years from now. Sure, photos in front of a sunset are beautiful, but let’s dig deeper. Let’s tell your story. Your lives aren’t lived in front of a sunset. They are made up of small, ordinary, mundane tasks like cooking dinner together, reading a bedtime story to your little ones, snuggling on the couch with your dog. Like Johnny says in the quote above, paradise isn’t on a tropical island somewhere, it’s much simpler than that. It’s about the small moments with the people you love. Let’s document those moments.

What better way to document these real, raw moments than in film. I’ve been so drawn to film lately and so excited to be offering it during these sessions. I once heard someone say that there’s just something special about film — it’s like listening to your favorite song play on a record player instead of in your headphones — and that really spoke to me.
